Phuket Muay Thai Gym – Location

Sumalee Boxing Gym is an internationally renowned Phuket Muay Thai gym serving the centre and north of the island.  It’s location on the East Coast provides immediate access to the breathtaking scenery of Phang Nga Bay. The nearby Cape Yamu, which overlooks the Andaman sea and the soaring dramatic limestones of Phang Nga Bay, is quickly becoming known as Phuket’s most desirable destination because of its spectacular natural beauty. The East Coast of Phuket remains stunning and unspoilt despite recent significant investment improving infrastructure and facilities.

Beaches and Cultural Attractions

Our Phuket Muay Thai gym’s central location means all the main tourist attractions and the island’s most famous beaches (Surin, Bang Tao, Layan and Nai Yang) are close by. Sumalee Boxing Gym is nestled between the iconic Tha Ruea Shrine and Yeedteng House, just twenty minutes drive from the airport.

Immediate Setting

Sumalee sits in beautiful countryside, within an old banana and coconut plantation. Much of the immediate area remains undeveloped to provide an unspoilt and serene backdrop to the training activities. It is extremely peaceful and it is possible to take a number of running routes through completely unspoilt countryside with very little traffic. The accommodation at Sumalee Boxing Gym is of a superior standard. For those looking for exclusive hotels, there is a very wide selection within 3-8km of our location.

There is a wide selection of restaurants, bars and nightlife in the surrounding area, particularly in the Cape Yamu, Surin Beach, Bang Tao and Laguna areas. In the immediate vicinity there are many local Thai restaurants and bars offering extremely good value for money.  The restaurant used by Thailand’s Prime Minister when in Phuket sits immediately behind the gym.

There is so much to see and do in the local area.  The following only gives a flavour of the variety available. To help you explore the beautiful surrounding area we offer moped hire directly from the gym, and can arrange car hire and taxis from a local supplier.
