Sumalee Boxing Gym at the Royal Kelantan International Boxing Challenge
The Sumalee Fight Team was graciously welcomed across the Thai border by a police motorbike escort to our hotel, accompanied by a truck playing traditional Malaysian music. We were then treated to a fantastic sword display and welcome dinner upon arrival. Both of our fighters were on the fight card for the opening night of the event. Thousands flocked to the Sultan Muhammad KE-IV Stadium in Kota Bharu, home to the Kelantan Red Warriors, Malaysian Super League and FA Cup Champions!
Moe Sumalee stepped into the ring in the third fight of the night facing Ban Mero, the Malaysian 59kg Champion and a local police officer in Kelantan. With strong performances from both corners, the fight ended in a draw.
Deachkalon Sumalee was the final ‘Special Event’ of the evening, matched up with Pakasit also from Thailand. He wowed the crowd with his Traditional Isaan dance and entertained the Malaysian spectators with a surprising Wai Kru before controlling the fight and dominating the later rounds with vicious punches and knees. Once again, Deachkalon Sumalee demonstrates his mastery and commitment to the sport and was presented the special event Trophy by officials.
